Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to Rou. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Rou website (rouapp.com), mobile application, and all related services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Rou (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. We encourage you to read these Terms carefully before using Rou.

2. Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to the following:

  • You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account and use the Service.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to keep this information up to date.
  • You must notify us immediately at hello@rouapp.com if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.

3. Subscription Terms

Rou offers paid subscription plans that provide access to premium content, programs, and features. Subscriptions are available through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe (on the web).

Plans and pricing

  • Standard: $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year
  • Premium: $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year

Free trial

New subscribers may be eligible for a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the applicable rate.

Auto-renewal

All subscriptions are auto-renewable. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or your account settings on the web (for Stripe subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. There are no partial refunds for the remaining time in a billing period.

Price changes

We may change subscription pricing from time to time. Any price changes will be communicated in advance and will apply to the next billing cycle after the change.

4. Content and Intellectual Property

All content provided through the Service — including but not limited to recipes, programs, educational materials, workbook prompts, images, videos, and text — is owned by Rou and its creator, Eva, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

  • You may not copy, redistribute, reproduce, or publicly display any Rou content without prior written permission.
  • You may not create derivative works based on Rou content for commercial purposes.

User-generated content

Content you create through the Service — such as workbook entries, journal notes, ratings, and photos — remains your property. By submitting user-generated content, you grant Rou a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. We will not sell or publicly share your user-generated content without your explicit consent.

5. Health and Nutrition Disclaimer

Rou provides nutrition education and wellness content for informational and educational purposes only. The Service is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

  • Eva is a Certified Gut Health Nutritionist, not a medical doctor. The guidance provided through Rou programs reflects nutrition education and personal expertise, not clinical medical advice.
  • Always consult your healthcare provider before making significant dietary changes, especially if you have existing health conditions, are pregnant or nursing, or are taking medications.
  • Individual results vary. The information provided through Rou is intended to support and promote general wellness, not to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
  • If you experience adverse symptoms while following a program, discontinue and consult a healthcare professional immediately.

6. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple people to use a single account.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract content or data from the Service.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Reproduce or redistribute Rou content, programs, or recipes outside the Service.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Rou and its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or health outcomes — arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content provided through the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Rou in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

8. Modifications to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page and notify you through the Service or by email.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Rou operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
